The nano-cars !

exploits

They are the smaller cars in the world: the nano-cars are just 1 molecule!

Propelled by an electric or magnetic field, they run on 4 or 6 “wheels” connected to an axis.
The goal: be able to interfere into chemical reactions by conveying other elements, almost like trucks for a building site!
This building site, it will be the construction of a microprocessor or an electronic board.

The nano-cars that we can see here, were built at the university of Rice (Texas). They are propelled when an electric field is applied to their motorway: a fine gold paper sheet.
The engine, created by a Dutch university, is attached to the car: when the light strikes its paddle wheel, it starts to turn and the car moves.

8 years to develop this car which measures only 2 nanometers length, i.e. more thin than a human DNA...

for those who do not know: 1 nanometer (1 nm) is equal to 0,000000001 meter.
