a mouse in a labyrinth

This week, we stay in the robots' world.
After the american insects, we now talk about the japanese mouses.



During the 26th All Japan Micromouse Contest (this is really a Japanese thing), Yin Hsiang Ting the Singapourian won the rapidity test with BR3S, his mousebot (picture here above).

According to what we can understand, the principle is to let the mouse go in a labyrinth. It learns the way by trials errors. When it found the way until the center, Yin takes it back to the start. At that moment, since it knows the way, it goes directly ... and much quicker !
Have a look, the video is surprising!
We even have the feeling that it takes another way than the first one. Scary.
